Don Kilgrow (retired Utah Highway Patrol) has been credited as being the Co-inventor of the modern day Spike System*. In 1997, it was announced that his system had stopped 15K pursuits with a perfect safety record. Trooper Ken Grieves (Retired Indiana State Police) patented a new Tire Deflation Device, called «Sticks» they were multisided and «easy» to deploy. With the new design came new tactics, where the devices were deployed without a cord. Very soon the safety of tire deflation devices were questioned and changes were necessary after serious incidents.

Spike-Belt is a new product based on Trooper Grieves “Multisided concept” this design allows the officer to deploy and the spikes land on one of two sides. The multi sided concept has become very popular because it offers what some call a «goof proof deployment». We at Spike Devil have created a fusion of Trooper Kilgrows, rock and tilt design, his system concept with a Multi-sided product. WE have created a fusion of the best featurea, to address safety concerns and also produce an easy to deploy product.
